Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!
Continuing on where we left off last week with my new asylum story, Lewis’ last line was that it wasn’t safe to be alone with Cartwright.
“Oh, please, I’ve had patients who thought they were the Exorcist. Besides, he’s in a straight jacket, chained to the floor, he’s not going anywhere. And if he does manage to get out and touches me, I’m perfectly capable of breaking his hands.”
Cartwright narrowed his eyes and watched me.
“I’ll be outside,” Lewis said, “waiting for you to scream.”
I rolled my eyes as he walked out and slammed the door behind him.
“Who are you exactly?” Cartwright questioned, as I walked back over to the table.
I held out my hand not thinking as I spoke, “I’m Dr. Huxley.”
Cartwright grinned and lifted his arm in effort to show he couldn’t shake hands, purposely rattling the chains as loud as he could.
“Right.” I said pulling my hand away.
Thanks for reading! You can read more great authors here and here!
Enjoy your Sunday!

At least he has a sense of humor. That’s a good start!
Lewis makes me shake my head. He thinks he’s so tough, but she’s rolling her eyes at him. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what happens now that he’s finally left them alone.
I bit of humor, I see. I’m curious to know how this meeting alone will go.
I can just hear the tone in that – :oh, please”
I’d be too nervous to do this interview!! And now I’m kind of curious about who she actually is. 🙂
