Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!
Continuing on where we left off last week with my new asylum story, where she is fighting with Lewis, the head of security. The last line was Lewis: “You weren’t here for his last escape, I lost three men that day.”
“I swear it was four.” Cartwright laughed, “Oh right, it was three, the other one is still in ICU fighting for his life.”
“You son of a bitch!” Lewis yelled.
“Shut it, both of you!” I yelled louder, surprising both men. I regained my composure, “Lewis, I’m very sorry for your loss, but this will not be the way we do things until I say otherwise. Now, if I could have my time with the patient…”
Lewis stormed off and stood in the corner by the door in his inflated muscle guard stance.
“You can go now.” I added.
Lewis shook his head, “Not a good idea to be left alone with him.”
Thanks for reading! You can read more great authors here and here!
Enjoy your Sunday!

“Inflated muscle stance” LOL! I can picture that perfectly. Nice touch.
Inflated muscle guard stance – LOL – love it. Easy to visualize – we’ve all seen “that guy”.
I don’t think Lewis is going to boss her around, “muscle guard stance” or not. 🙂 I’m loving this story!
The muscle phrase caught all of our attention. Good description.
