Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday! And Happy Memorial Day!
Continuing on where we left off last week with my new asylum story after she tossed the burlap sack back at Lewis…
“We’re doing that so he can’t figure out how to escape.” Lewis answered.
Cartwright laughed, “Twenty-four steps to the left of my cell on the way here is a stairwell that leads to the roof, at the end of this hall is a window with a fire escape…”
His voice was deep and angry with a hint of Coney Island.
“I don’t think the sack helped.” I said. “Next time why don’t you try spinning him around first, like it’s pin the tail on the fucking donkey? This will not be the way we are doing things while he’s in my care.”
“The next time he escapes, it will be in your care, and I , nor my team, will not be held responsible.” Lewis said angry, getting in my face, “You weren’t here for his last escape, I lost three men that day.”
Thanks for reading! You can read more great authors here and here!
Enjoy your Sunday!
I’m really curious to know what kind of information she wants from him, and whether he’ll be willing to talk to her. Nice snippet!
Really like the description – with a hint of COney Island.
I’m really curious about what will happen.
